Today, we are glad to introduce you to a new member of Strix’s team: Kady Toure.

Kady joined Lyne Guay’s finance team a short time ago as an Intermediate Financial Technician. Since onboarding she has been working diligently to validate and process claims, helping INSAT participants advance their innovative research projects.

💼 Kady brings 3 years of experience across project management, data management, and financial services, complemented by a recently completed master’s in management. Her strong attention to detail and commitment to supporting innovation makes her a valuable addition to the team.

Kady s’est récemment jointe à l’équipe finance de Lyne Guay à titre de Technicienne Financière Intermédiaire. Depuis son arrivée, elle travaille avec rigueur à la validation et au traitement des réclamations, contribuant ainsi à faire progresser les projets de recherche novateurs des participants du programme INTAD.

💼 Kady cumule trois années d’expérience en gestion de projet, en gestion de données et dans le secteur des services financiers, complétées par une maîtrise en gestion récemment obtenue. Son professionnalisme et son engagement à soutenir l’innovation font d’elle un atout précieux pour l’équipe.

✈️ 🇩🇪🇨🇦 On Monday, we joined the German Aviation Industry Delegation in Montréal to connect with German and Canadian companies and to explore opportunities in aerospace and defence.

The day began with an Aero Brunch hosted by the AHK Kanada, including a welcome speech by Christian Wagner, the Consul General of Germany in Montréal. It was followed by insights into Montréal and Québec’s aerospace and defence ecosystem and short pitches from the German companies.

In the afternoon at Ax.c, B2B meetings brought German and Canadian companies together to discuss potential collaboration.
Attendees also had the chance to learn more about Strix and INSAT, followed by a presentation from Centech Mtl that further enriched the discussion. The day came to a great close with a networking dinner.

Special thanks to AHK Kanada for organizing the delegation and inviting us to take part. It was a real pleasure to exchange perspectives and open the door to future collaboration.

✈️ 🇩🇪🇨🇦 Lundi, nous avons eu le plaisir de nous joindre à la délégation allemande de l’industrie aérospatiale à Montréal afin d’échanger avec des entreprises allemandes et canadiennes et d’explorer de nouvelles opportunités dans les secteurs de l’aérospatiale et de la défense.
 
La journée a débuté par un Aéro Brunch organisé par l'AHK Kanada, incluant un mot de bienvenue de Christian Wagner, consul général d’Allemagne à Montréal. Les participants ont ensuite eu droit à un aperçu de l’écosystème aérospatial et de défense de Montréal et du Québec, ainsi qu’à de courtes présentations des entreprises allemandes.
 
En après-midi, à l'Ax.c, des rencontres B2B ont permis aux entreprises allemandes et canadiennes d’échanger sur de potentielles collaborations.
Les participants ont également eu l’occasion d’en apprendre davantage sur Strix et INTAD, avant d’assister à une présentation de Centech Mtl, qui a enrichi les discussions. La journée s’est conclue par un souper de réseautage.

Un grand merci à l'AHK Kanada pour l’organisation de cette délégation et pour son invitation à participer à cette initiative. Ce fut un réel plaisir de partager nos perspectives et d’ouvrir la voie à de futures collaborations.

Félicitations à Axeo et à ses partenaires pour le lancement de la première cohorte d’Axéo Défense, le seul programme entièrement en français au Canada consacré à la validation du marché de la défense! 👏

La semaine dernière, en collaboration avec la Ville de Gatineau, l'Université du Québec en Outaouais (UQO) et la Maison de l'Innovation Technologique (MiT), Axeo a accueilli 15 entreprises de l’Ontario et du Québec dans un parcours de neuf semaines visant à évaluer leur potentiel dans le secteur de la défense. Grâce au soutien de Brigil, BBL Construction et Export Outaouais, ainsi qu’à l’accompagnement d’experts du secteur, les participants bénéficieront d’un accompagnement spécialisé pour explorer de nouvelles occasions de croissance.

Congratulations to Axeo and its partners on the launch of the first Axeo Défense cohort, Canada's only fully French-language program dedicated to defence market validation! 👏

Last week, in collaboration with Ville de Gatineau, the Université du Québec en Outaouais, and Maison de l'Innovation Technologique (MiT), Axeo introduced 15 Ontario and Quebec companies that will be participating in a 9-week long program to assess their defence market-readiness. With the financial support of Brigil, BBL Construction, and Export Outaouais, and expert guidance, participants will be equipped with the resources needed to pursue growth opportunities in defence.

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of joining the Baden-Württemberg International (BW_i) webinar on opportunities in Canada for companies and research institutes in the aerospace and defence sectors.

👏 A big DANKE to the BW_i team for organizing this insightful session and for giving Strix the opportunity to introduce ourselves and share our mission.

The overview of the Canadian aerospace and defence landscape provided by the Baden-Württemberg Business Representation in Canada via AHK Kanada was also very valuable.

It was great to connect with companies from Baden-Württemberg and to start exploring potential opportunities for exchange and collaboration.

An excellent opportunity to bring the Baden-Württemberg and Canadian ecosystems a little closer together. 🤝🇨🇦 🇩🇪

September 30th is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day. 
 
It’s a time to remember the children who never returned home and to honour Survivors and their families. Reconciliation is rooted in the courage to listen, the humility to acknowledge past and ongoing harms, and an unwavering commitment to upholding the truth while confronting denialism in all forms. 
 
At Strix, we stand in solidarity with Indigenous Peoples today and every day, committing ourselves to the essential, ongoing work of truth-telling and meaningful reconciliation.

Le 30 septembre, nous soulignons la Journée nationale de la vérité et de la reconciliation et la Journée du chandail orange. 
 
C’est l’occasion d’honorer la mémoire des enfants qui ne sont jamais revenus chez eux et de rendre hommage aux survivants et à leurs proches. La réconciliation repose sur le courage de l’écoute, l’humilité de reconnaître les torts d’hier et d’aujourd’hui, ainsi qu’une volonté ferme de faire valoir la vérité tout en dénonçant le dénialisme sous toutes ses formes.

En tant que représentant de Strix, Denis prendra part à la discussion « Créer une filière aéronautique décarbonée : de la collaboration à l'exécution », qui portera sur les opportunités, les défis et les collaborations essentielles à l'accélération de la décarbonation du secteur de l'aviation. 
 
Aux côtés d'Aurélien Labrunye (Sia), de Matthieu Boisson (CertifHy) et de Marion Chivot Legris (Edmonton International Airport (YEG)), il contribuera aux échanges sur les solutions concrètes, les leviers d’innovation et les initiatives collaboratives qui accélèrent la transition vers une aviation plus durable et décarbonée. 🌱
