Nomination: Denis Godin, new Program Director and Deputy Director General
Michel Dion, Director General of the Initiative for Sustainable Aviation Technologies™ (INSAT) of Canada is pleased to announce the appointment of Denis Godin as the new Program Director and Deputy Director General. Denis brings nearly 25 years of leadership in grants and scholarships programs management within the federal government, and research and development experience in the private sector.
During his many years at the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), Denis guided the development and the fair and transparent evaluation of several university-industry collaborative projects in many key sectors of the Canadian economy, including aerospace. He has managed a diverse portfolio of business-led networks and centers of excellence in commercialization and research, providing guidance and support to the board of directors and management teams, guiding them on the path to success. Denis also led the Scholarships & Fellowships division, supporting talent development and the training of the next generation of researchers in Canada.
Denis also uses his leadership skills and collaborative approach in another facet of aviation through his contribution to the planning and execution of air shows in Quebec and Ontario over the past 14 years. As Program Director, he is responsible for the smooth and safe conduct of the event, in the air and on the ground, for the benefit of the thousands of spectators attending the shows. Denis also shares his passion with future airline pilots when teaching at Select Aviation College in Gatineau.
